#27: Schrafft’s
When Schrafft’s opened in New York City in 1906, it was your classic soda fountain, serving milkshakes, ice cream, and an upscale casual dining experience. It was a New York City chain with clothed tables and fine diner food with over 50 locations at its peak, mostly in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. Schrafft’s eventually closed down sometime in the 80s, as many fast-food chain restaurants were on the rise, and they couldn’t keep up with the competition.
