It might come as a surprise when it comes to movie-associated meal deals, but McDonald’s wasn’t the only one doing it. When Star Wars was first released, the tie-in food items were with Burger Chef, a burger chain with more than 1,000 restaurants in the 1970s.

And while they might no longer exist, Burger Chef beat McDonald’s to the punch many times. For instance, they introduced the “funmeal” five years before McDoanld’s introduced the well-known and loved Happy Meal.
