#21: Bresler’s Ice Cream
I mentioned Bresler’s Ice Cream earlier, as it owned Henry’s Hamburgers. Founded in 1927 as Bresler’s 33 Flavors, it had it all. You could get everything, including the kitchen sink, which was the name of one of its flavors. You could also get ice cream cakes for $3. So, what happened to such a promising business?

Business happened. In 1987, it was sold to Oberweis Dairy, and it was rebranded to the boring name of Bresler’s Ice Cream. It tried to add frogurt to be like TCBY, but it couldn’t keep up. It was sold again and eventually was bought by CoolBrands in 1995. By 2007, there were five locations left, and CoolBrands decided to rebrand them all.
