#15: Looking Glum for Lum’s
Lum’s was a family restaurant specializing in beer-steamed hot dogs. Its roots date back to 1956 when ambitious entrepreneurs purchased a hot dog stand and turned it into a big franchise. At one point, they even bought Ceasar’s Palace in Vegas. However, they gambled on too many locations, which ultimately hurt them. Lum’s went defunct in 1982, though a few franchised locations remained in operation until 2017.
