#13: Big Boy Restaurant

I think many of us still recognize that big boy about to hand us a hamburger the size of his head. The diner chain started in 1936 as Bob’s Pantry, but its signature item, the Big Boy Hamburger, quickly took over. Diner-style chains faded out of style, and there are around 55 locations in the US.

Interestingly enough, one franchisee, Frisch’s, became the owner of the Big Boy trademark in the Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee area, and they have 85 locations across those states. Who’s the bigger boy now?
