The scissors
What are we cutting here? In this clever painting, the scissors are cutting the road stripes as these were white marks on a piece of black fabric. With a small addition, the simple boring road became a work of interpretation in a charismatic way. The artist’s name is Peter Gibson, also known as Roadsworth.
He has started the art project to encourage the city of Montreal to build more bike lanes. The artist brilliantly creates artistic extensions to roads, sidewalks and parking lots. Sometimes he extends the ordinary to be another object. In many cases, he brings an image from nature to give gray city roads some softness and life.
