Salvador, Brazil is also known as the land of happiness. The Bahia Carnival is held there every year. During the carnival, music trucks with dancers on top of them can be found. Various musical instruments unique to this area like the berimbau, agogos, and arabesques are also seen. Visitors can join in the fun by buying a shirt for the part of town they are in. The city of Salvador holds a record for having the largest street parties in the world and was noted in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Salvador Carnival also establishes the “Black Pride” which celebrates the Mahatma. It is promoted by the followers of Gandhi who are known as the Filhos de Gandhi or Sons of Gandhi and also promotes peace and brotherhood within the carnival.
