Notting Hill, London
Mardi Gras in Notting Hill has been a tradition since 1966. The Caribbean inspired celebration is filled with music from all around. This includes over a hundred different stages playing various types of music from soca, hip hop, reggae, disco, soca, dub, dance, pop, R&B, samba, calypso and everything in between. There is a stage that will fit everyone’s preference. You can also see Brazilian bands marching in the parade, having anywhere from thirty to one hundred and fifty drummers in a block.
It is held in August so, while it might not fall into the traditional Mardi Gras season, the carnival in Notting Hill is still one worth experiencing. It has grown to be one of the largest events in London, attractions thousands of people daily to participate in the fun.
