Finally, we have Bishop’s Buffet. This restaurant was founded in 1920 by Benjamin Franklin Bishop. I would have invoked Ben Franklin if I were him. But I guess the name Bishop does make you feel all regal, so it thrived for decades. The regal theme did exist in the buffet, with you being able to choose a “king’s ransom of dessert.” All that tells me is that the dessert wasn’t unlimited. Come on! In 2012, the last Bishop’s closed.
