In 1940, self-taught African American engineer and inventor Frederick McKinley Jones created the first mobile refrigerated truck. Before this, food and drinks were transported in trucks filled with salt and ice to prevent them from spoiling. This breakthrough completely changed how the world consumed food and drink, and it’s all thanks to him!
