#16: “Hound Dog”
There is no denying that when it comes to great musical hits, there are some songs that everyone has heard at least once in their lives. Often, these songs are made into pop culture references and movies because they mean something to people. But just because these songs are meaningful doesn’t mean the way they were obtained was right.

Arguably, Elvis Presley is one of the most famous musicians of all time and had a great voice. However, during his rise to fame, the world looked very different, and certain people weren’t afforded credit for their achievements. Elvis’ hit song, “Hound Dog,” wasn’t an Elvis original like everyone thought; rather, it was a cover of the same song by African American singer Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton.
