#2: Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers teamed up at RKO Radio Pictures in 1933 with Flying Down to Rio, where they played supporting roles but caught attention right away. Their first lead pairing came with The Gay Divorcee in 1934, which earned an Academy Award for Best Original Song. They went on to star in 10 films together, including Top Hat in 1935. Their last collaboration from that run was The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle in 1939. Astaire later received a lifetime Oscar in 1950, while Rogers won Best Actress in 1941 for Kitty Foyle.
