MTN Nigeria has launched the BetterMe campaign to demonstrate how ordinary people can use the internet to do extraordinary things in ways that add values to their lives, CommunicationsWeek reported. General manager for corporate affairs Funmilayo Onajide said that telecom products and services are moving from predominately voice to data and digital services. MTN will introduce local content of which many Nigerians are not aware, including pidgin-based websites, local language news and a useful information that should help people to see the positive value in the internet.
The firm’s CMO Bayo Adekanmbi said MTN is working with Nigerian firm Neo-2 to launch an application to drive behavioural change among Nigerians. There are three types of BetterMe service available. The daily package offer which consists of 20 national call minutes, 15 MB of mobile data and 35 national SMS for NGN 250. The monthly package offer provides 100 national minutes, 100 national texts and 300 MB of data for NGN 2,015. The monthly data bundle delivers 2,015 MB for NGN 2,015.
MTN has also showcased the benefits of My2015App as a one-stop guide to news, resolutions, prophecies, opportunities, deals and more. The offers are available to users on daily and monthly bundles.
