Fatalities Persist Along the Pathway
The treacherous Stampede Trail claimed another life in 2010, when Claire Achermann, a Swiss hiker, tragically lost her life. Accompanied by her friend, Etienne Gros, they embarked on their journey towards the infamous bus in August. However, upon reaching the same untamed river that had earlier deterred Chris, Achermann braved the waters in an attempt to cross it. Her courage was met with a cruel fate as she was swept away halfway across.

In a subsequent statement to officials, Gros clarified that the duo had no specific plans to arrive at the bus. This unfortunate incident indeed raises the question – has history repeated itself?
