What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas: A Throwback to the Glory Days of Sin City

November 5, 2005 by Talia Ben-Izhak

The mighty Dunes

This is a postcard of the Dunes hotel from 1956. It might not seem like much on the outside, but the Dunes hosted some of Vegas’ most legendary events. Hotel competition was fierce at the time, as there so many, and some of them struggled to survive. The Dune’s signature was the 35 feet tall sultan statue.
