The mighty Dunes
This is a postcard of the Dunes hotel from 1956. It might not seem like much on the outside, but the Dunes hosted some of Vegas’ most legendary events. Hotel competition was fierce at the time, as there so many, and some of them struggled to survive. The Dune’s signature was the 35 feet tall sultan statue.
This photo depicts the front of the hotel with the vintage cars of guests parked in front, and it provides us with a glimpse of the old days of Vegas and an opportunity to momentarily step back in time.
