Most of the times when we wake up from the bed in the morning we are usually filled with one complain or the other about how painful it may be with us at one part of the body or the other.
At some other times, it may just be the sheer enormity of all the tasks that await us to handle that is making us to complain as it were. But do you know that there are those who are afflicted with some diseases that you never knew exists?
This article is not meant to simply show you the unfortunate fellows that are suffering from these terrible diseases but also to help us appreciate what we have and while we shouldn’t be moaning that headache as if its one big issue. Let us have it in our minds that they are those battling with some extra-ordinary health challenges, and some unusual types of diseases that we never thought exist.

1. Hypertrichosis
This disease, according to dictionary definition, is a medical condition of excessive body hair all over the body. Something to think about: Most of us complain of having to shave every morning before going to work apart from occasionally barbing their hair if a man.
While doing that and perhaps complaining of constantly shaving of those disturbing hairs, please know that they are those that cannot help being as hairy as goat which is never as a result of their making but just a somewhat disease that come their way either as a result of using some hair growth products or something they inherited genetically.
2. Progeria
How would you have felt if you were born with wrinkles all over your body with your head getting bigger each passing day with all parts of your body looking like that of an 80/90 year-old when you manages to survive till your late teens?.
The worst thing about this disease is that the sufferers rarely live past their 20’s because their internal organs cease to function. Though the chances of getting afflicted by Progeria is said to be too slim but nonetheless, it has a name, enough indication that it is possible. Researchers are however giving the hopes of using the scary condition to unlock the secrets of aging process.
3. Cotard’s Delusion
Walking Corpse Syndrome. Why would a normal human believe and is equally convinced that they are actually dead even while doing every other things that the living does? It is not an ordinary feeling but as a result of the deadly disease known as -Cotard’s Delusion. Sometimes those afflicted by this illness believes that they have some missing organs and are without blood, at times they even starve to death while believing that they no longer need food.
The cause of this disease is traceable to the part of the brain not functioning properly which leads the sufferer to view himself differently; often thinking that he is dead already with less things to do with the living and also viewing himself to be superior than ordinary every other persons. Treatment of this disease includes a series of anti-depressants and electroductive therapy.
4. Kuru Disease
This is a neurological disease that makes the afflicted person to laugh uncontrollably and even to death if care is not taken. It also leads to inability of controlling the body and constant shakes which starts gradually and later graduates to the alarming stage.
The worst part of this disease is that it has no known cure but the good side is that it could be prevented because it is only transmitted by eating the brain of another human that is infected with the disease. It is only common in the Tribal regions of Papua New Guinea who has the habits of eating of their relations once they die because of their tradition.
5. Porphyria
This disease if left untreated could make a person to go mad. Some experts believe porphyria offers an explanation to the legend of the vampire, with symptoms that are very similar to what is described in folklore.
Even the treatment of this disease is not easily come-by because it is said that the afflicted has to be on a regular blood transfusion. It is caused by extreme sensitivity to sunlight, an aversion to highly acidic foods (such as garlic) and causes the gums to recede, giving the appearance of sharp fangs.
