Lower back pain seems to be a major problem for women, especially those of child bearing age. This could be more severe with those with a particular lifestyle. Most times these back pains seems to be chronic or acute depending on the cause or exposure. Chronic back pain lasts for about 2 to 3 months while acute back pains lasts for over a year. According to research about 70 to 80% of women have suffered acute lower back pain.

There are several causes of lower back pain which include;
Sedentary Lifestyle
This is a type of lifestyle where an individual stay at a particular place for a long time restricting he or she from doing or receive regular amounts of physical activity (exercise). Example of sedentary lifestyle include sitting behind a desk or a wheel for a very long time, this can cause or even worsen an existing back pain. And most times it leads to excess body weight.Exercise help in strengthening the back bone while people with sedentary lifestyle lack the benefit of exercise, their bones and muscles get stiff and degenerated.
Stress
Stress is not not always bad, is just a way in which our body respond to demand and threat. But the most import thing is how to manage it. effective stress management like having adequate sleep and taking of healthy diet can help to prevent back pain especially when it is related to the muscle and also strengthening your physical health.

Smoking
Smokers have higher tendency of developing lower back pain than nonsmokers. According to research, it has been discovered that cigarette smoke contains nicotine which thicken the walls of the blood vessels making it difficult for blood to flow through the large and small blood vessels of the lower back. Intake of cigarette should be avoided in other to keep our back strong and healthy.

This is another causes of lower back in women. menstrual cramps are pains that occur in a woman abdomen when her menstrual period begins, it can range from mild to unbearable within 2 to 3 days.
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
PID is a disease that affect the cervix when exposed to $exual transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and chlamydia. Other causes of PID include child birth and abortion. PID, if not properly treated causes a severe pain starting from the cervix round the lower back.
Endometriosis
This is another common cause of lower back pain in women. Endometriosis is a painful disease that affect women. It occurs when the pieces of the lining of the uterus are found outside the uterus or are attached to the other organs within the abdomen. It causes severe pains like painful intercourse, painful urination, fatigue and low back pain.

Avoid Extra Weight
Dr.McLaughlin,he says “Every extra pound that is carried on your belly puts 5 to 10 pound of pressure on your spine” This simply means every extra weight inculcated around our waist adds stress to our back. in other word adequate weight watching is very essential.
Maintain Good Sitting Position
This is basically for those with a sedentary lifestyle. Avoid sloughing at your desk, sit upright in a comfortable chair that will support the lower part of your back with your feet on the floor.
Avoiding picking or carrying of heavy object, this helps to protect the back from getting cracked.
Use Pain Drugs Wisely
It is wise, to take an anti-inflammatory drugs after being exposed to stress or anything that could lead to back pain. Prevention they said is better than cure. When experiencing a severe lower back pain, it is wise for one to contact a doctor for a proper diagnosis than depending on self care because not all treatments work for all individual with same condition.
Finally, exercise is another good way to get rid of back pain. It helps to stretch and strengthen our body and joint.
