Nurses are Experts at Distracting You
Sometimes nurses need to distract patients for their own good and they’re very talented at it! With dementia patients who are extremely anxious about their memory loss and unable to focus on anything else, nurses will try to distract them with activities they actually like doing such as knitting, exercising, or listening to music.

It also works wonders if the patient in question is a child and petrified of pain. Nurses will try to engage them in games on the phone, use books, play music, or promise to give them a reward once they’re done. Distraction techniques come naturally to most nurses as it is part of the job and that’s impressive!
