The Side Effects of Stress
We’ve established by now that nurses work in extremely challenging situations that could affect them mentally more than they realize or let on. According to a study that was published in Nursing Research and Practice in 2016, more than 92% of nurses reported suffering from mild to very high levels of stress.

Everyone goes through different side effects of stress and for this group that meant 72% didn’t get enough sleep, 70% resorted to eating junk food, 69% didn’t have the motivation to exercise, and around 22% indulged in binge drinking. How did they make it better? 79% spoke to loved ones, 46% listened to music, and 43% watched TV and meditated or prayed.
