Spot the Temps
You may not realize this but hospitals bring in temp nurses quite often. The work environment is extremely fast-paced, the hours are long, and many nurses work only 3 days a week. This means that hospitals are short-staffed more often than you know. That’s when they resort to recruiting nurses from temp agencies.
These temp nurses may not be lacking in experience but they do have to be trained to get familiar with the hospital’s protocols, their new teams, the doctors, and so on. That means they have to work twice as hard to get on board.
