What’s in a Name?
Nurses have to be nice to their patients but they also have to be mindful of not getting emotionally involved or too attached. Their job is hard enough as is without the added weight of personal feelings. This is why they insist on boundaries and while keeping it casual, it’s not uncommon for nurses to forget most of their patients’ names.

So while patients may feel like they really got close to a nurse, it’s not always the case. Naturally, this could lead to a few awkward encounters but that’s part of the job and it’s nothing personal.
