Barca have Neymar Jr, Gerard Pique and Xavi Hernandez participating. Also Didier Drogba, Boateng, George Davis, Christiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Varane, John Obi Mikel and Philipp Lahm have taken part in the project, composing ‘eleven’ against Ebola, and Pep Guardiola serves as the coach.
They were selected with the help of doctors and health experts from Africa, the World Bank Group and the World Health Organization (WHO), working to eradicate the virus in West Africa recommendations.
Neymar Jr highlights the importance of encouraging such initiatives. “It is very important that the right information gets to those affected by the outbreak of Ebola. We all hope that this positive campaign will help people better understand the Ebola virus and would reduce the chances of transmission. We support this campaign to help our brothers and sisters in the most affected regions. Together, we can defeat Ebola.
