Pictures from Classic McDonald’s Restaurants from the 80s and 90s

December 6, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Something to do while eating

After mom and dad came back to our table with food, we’d always get one of the paper placemats. These were a fun way to keep us happy while we munched on our burger and fries. We never brought a pencil or pen with us, so we never solved any of the puzzles. Still, in a day without smartphones or tabs, us kids had something to look at while eating.

We have a pretty good idea of why McDonald’s stop printing these placemats. They were probably a regular expense that didn’t serve any purpose since most of them wound up in the garbage can.
