Pictures from Classic McDonald’s Restaurants from the 80s and 90s

December 6, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

The McCoke spoon

Does anyone recall ever seeing this overly long spoon before? We certainly don’t, but apparently, it was a huge deal back when it was still in production. Some people would use this skinny spool to sugar into their morning coffee while others use it to get the final bits of their McFlurry from the bottom of the cup.

Now, if you’re wondering why McDonald’s did away with this spoon, it’s because they found out that people were using it for drugs. We won’t tell you which drug, but you can probably guess from the title. Anyway, McDonald’s didn’t want to be associated with drug use, so they stopped making these spoons once and for all.
