Prawn

Prawn are similar to shrimp but bigger. Most prawns have a narrow, tapering body, under which the tail is curled, and long, whiskery antenna and ten legs. The body is encased in a brittle shell. When cooked, the shells turn pink and the sweet, meaty flesh turns white tinged with pink; brief cooking is essential, otherwise the flesh will become tough. During cleaning, the legs are torn off and they’re decapitated and disemboweled. As their bowels are ripped out, poop spills out and often gets all over the animal.
