While the Geoduck looks very strange it is actually a large clam with a simple anatomy. It is composed of a neck which protrudes out of the shell and the mantle which is the meaty part that sits inside the shell. They can be found along the Pacific Northwest and Western Canadian coast. They anchor themselves into the ground with a small “foot,” and remain in one spot for their whole lives.
