Ironic Moments That Are Too Good to Be True

July 13, 2004 by Emma Cooper

Freedom

Well, this is a great demonstration of freedom. William Wallace fought his entire life to achieve freedom, the most basic human right, only to end up as a statue locked in a cage. They probably locked up the statue to prevent vandalism, but the fact they locked up a statue that’s supposed to represent freedom is just priceless.

Perhaps instead of spending money on a fence, they should have invested in a new statue – one with the face of William Wallace, rather than Mel Gibson, who portrayed him in the film. That could have been a more efficient way to prevent vandalism.
