Chair Tetris
This picture isn’t exactly a mystery, although it did shock passersby. We wouldn’t blame you for thinking that the chairs were randomly tossed at an empty plot of land between two buildings, but in fact, Doris Salcedo, an artist from Columbia, meticulously stacked one chair on top of another. Her masterpiece is titled the Installation for the 8th Istanbul Biennial.

She built this masterpiece in Istanbul and took over 1,550 chairs to construct. Doris wanted to show the locals of Istanbul how many immigrants contributed to the national economy over the years. The normal-size man passing in front of the chairs shows just how massive this art piece truly is.
