We see them every day, every time we’re out on the street, on our way to work and our way back home, but we don’t pay much attention to them. Have you ever considered the actual size of a traffic light? Probably not, but we’re here to answer that question anyway.

The size of an average traffic light is 30 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide. I bet that’s bigger than you thought. These measurements might not tell you much, but seeing traffic lights next to people really puts that in perspective. Did you realize traffic lights were this big? I guess it makes sense, otherwise, they might be easy to miss. However, thanks to the material they’re made of, they aren’t very heavy.
