Southern Fried Rattlesnake
Many compare it to chicken, others compare it to alligator and campers in the Southwest, where it’s most often eaten, call it desert whitefish. Maybe that’s why it tends to be served in chilis and stews, where spices and peppers lend the illusion of flavor. A rattlesnake can be a tricky and time-consuming to eat because of all the bones. Instead of using a knife and fork, diners use their fingers to pull and tear the meat away from the bone. Beware during preparation, dead snakes, and even decapitated snakes, can still bite you and inject large amounts of venom.
