Although there are many factors which impact the way a film is viewed, the cast is the main component in which we judge movies. Back when CGI wasn’t around, actors were the ones that made, or break a movie, and still have just as major of a role in a films success, even in this new era of CGI. The decision making process of choosing a cast isn’t an easy one, attempting to find someone who can perfectly replicate what the director is trying to portray.
Over the years, Hollywood has made some interesting casting decisions, here is a list of the most questionable casting decisions in the history of film.
Hayden Christensen – Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars II-III)
What could have been bigger than a prequel Star Wars series in which we learn about the evil Darth Vader’s roots? Apparently the studio didn’t believe this trilogy was so important with the decision to play Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.
Christensen just didn’t live up to the hype of what may be the greatest villain in film history, not being able to truly capture the complexities Anakin Skywalker went through in his transformation to the dark side.
