Honey, We Play This Song When We Perform It!
It doesn’t matter how much time has passed since the Baha Men’s number one single from July 2000 arrived at the top of the charts; it still has the potential to motivate listeners to put on their dance shoes and get down. Unless, of course, it’s the first dance a newlywed couple does together after getting married. It’s possible that not everyone will have a problem with this, but if they do, there probably aren’t that many of them.
At the very least, there is something to be said for the fact that this song was awarded a Grammy, in contrast to a great deal of other well-known first-dance music. The original recording of the song is one that we have all grown to know and love. However, Baha Men recorded a version of the song that is different from the one we all know and love.
