Kindness Is Essential

On March 20, at the start of the blackout, funnyman Kevin T. Porter chose to make this point. Using the phrase “we all need kindness” (as Ellen often says), he began his tweet. Then he added that she is “one of the meanest people alive.”

A photo on Twitter of the “Kindness Queen” and George W. Bush at a football match caused him to dislike her. His offer to the LA Food Bank was in reply to his tweet about most “insane stories you’ve listened about Ellen being mean,” and he offered to give $2 for every response. The comic writer struck a chord with the audience.
