The Real-Life Partners of the Biggest NFL Stars

February 27, 2008 by David Foster

5. Kyle Van Noy and Marissa Powell

The New England Patriots linebacker, who started his career as an All-American BYU player, married former Miss Utah USA, model and athlete Marissa Powell, in 2013. The two met the same year Powell won Miss Utah, and they had an immediate connection. On one of their very first dates, the football star shared with the model that he was adopted, and she told him her father and brother were adopted; this common ground set them off to a good start.

The same year, the couple got engaged after Van Noy’s last season game.  Both Kyle and Marissa are active in their charity endeavors; among other things, Marissa volunteered at Primary Children’s Hospital and traveled to orphanages in Haiti as part of her duty as an ambassador for Hands for Haiti. The two founded a charity together – the Van Noy Valor Foundation – aimed at providing children and youth different resources needed to succeed in life.
