With the current times, movie theaters and movie productions have grinded to a halt. And even though nobody knows how long it will be until they come back into action, there are plenty of movies out there that can keep us hopeful and excited for that return. Of course, everyone’s tastes in film or genres are different so each person probably has their own bucket list like this one. However, here are some of the most awaited movies to come that everyone is itching to see when theaters and film begin again.
No Time To Die
Another James Bond film, No Time To Die, had its feature song by Billie Eilish debuted (when the film was meant to be previewed and a release date given) already in February of 2020. The film has now been pushed out to November 2020 in hopes it’ll be filmed then. Plenty of James Bond diehards cannot wait for this film, and the feature song has millions of listens.
A Quiet Place II
While A Quiet Place was a hit or miss with viewers, there were plenty of people that loved the suspenseful film in its wholeness. The sequel to the original storyline plans to continue where the first one’s plot left off with continued efforts to survive by the family along with added characters and suspense. It was originally planned for spring of 2020, but who knows now.
Marvel Stories
There are so many Marvel movies that many fans eagerly awaited before the shutdown of film production. Some of these include Black Widow and Wonder Woman 1984, which grabbed millions with their captivating and action filled previews that were aired. Both have a hopeful release date of late 2020 now, and we can only hope that will be true.
Mulan
Disney drew the attention of fans both old and new when they debuted the preview and idea for the live action remake of their original movie Mulan. It appears to be promising although it misses out on some classic pieces of the original such as Mushu. Disney has yet to give their audience a new release date for this movie, but you can be certain many are awaiting it!
Top Gun: Maverick
Fans loved the original Top Gun in the 80s, and many were incredibly stoked when Paramount Pictures announced Top Gun: Maverick for 2020. This film promises some great nostalgia to the original for those that loved Top Gun in ’84. Paramount pushed the release date into July of 2021, but most fans are okay waiting a little longer with how long of a wait it has been already.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Another new Ghostbusters movie is set to debut in March of 2021, directed by the son of the original Ghostbusters’ director and including many cameos from the original cast. This movie completely disregards the 2016 female remake that received harsh criticism upon its release and takes it back to the original storyline and cast with some new additions like Finn Wolfhard.
So many more movies have been previewed or discussed by film production companies over the time that production has been shut down, but these are overall the most important or eagerly awaited ones by fans and other movie watchers. It may not be guaranteed when movies will be back in the swing of things, or what movies will come, but hopefully these can help everyone keep an optimistic outlook on that future to come. What are some movies you can’t wait to see filmed when they’re running again?
