Steve Hervey made the biggest mistake of his career today when he crowned the first runner up, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez in the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant that took place at The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, California, on December 20, 2015. The actual winner was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach but instead, Steve Harvey, the host for the night misread the name and announced Miss Colombia as the winner.
Just imagine. You got crowned Miss Universe for less than 2 minutes . The joy and then the agony? But then the Steve Harvey acknowledged he’d made a terrible mistake and did apologize before announcing back the real winner. He said “Okay forks, I have to apologize.” shortly after the initial announcement.
Opinion are divided on the social media with some insisting it could be a calculated mistake to increase publicity for the Miss Universe pageant which had remained second class to the Miss World. Watch the video below!

But that would have been so wicked to Miss Colombia unless she was informed in advance. And if she was informed in advance, that will confine the credibility of the pageant to the dustbin. So I doubt if it was premeditated though it worked out to the Miss Universe pageant advantage because now they got more attention than ever to the detriment of the Colombian beauty.
I agree. It’s a calculated attempt to make it more attractive and to go viral. What type of mistake is that?
