Captain America: The First Avenger was set in 1942, and Steve and his friend Bucky Barnes attend the World’s Fair exhibiting ideas for future technologies. Howard Stark is one of the exhibitors, so we get a glimpse at a Tony Stark precursor. As the pair wander around with their dates, however, fans of the comics will see another interesting morsel.

In a glass cage in the middle of a sectioned-off area is a mannequin in a red suit. Those in the know will realize that this is, in fact, the Human Torch, The Human Torch was the first-ever superhero created at the precursor to Marvel: Timely Comics. He probably looked pretty futuristic in 1942, though.
