Some places on Earth stand out as unique because of how they are different from other places. Every country, city, and neighborhood in the world has its own unique qualities. Every place is different and interesting in its own way, but some places have features that make them stand out from others.
Only in Vatican City do 2.3% of all popes live within an area of one square mile. Because Vatican City is so small, this is possible. At least part of a pope’s performance can be judged by how well the faithful treat him, which may seem strange. Simply put, the number of popes who have ruled over the Catholic Church in Vatican City is unmatched by other places on Earth with the same amount of land.
