Why?
In spite of the fact that English is recognised as the official language in a number of nations, there are still some inconspicuous variations in the way individual words are pronounced in various parts of the world. These various ways of pronouncing a word can sometimes be rather fascinating, yet, the vast majority of the time, they just sound wrong.
The term “wi-fi” is pronounced “wiffy,” and we have a strong suspicion that whoever came up with that pronunciation was extremely intoxicated when they came up with it. It would appear that we are not the only ones who struggle with pronouncing this particular type of word… We could be mistaken, but we believed everyone was familiar with the term “wifi.”
