Just so I’m clear, let me say this. Is it possible that his mother gives birth, fills out paperwork with the wrong birthdate, and all of this goes unnoticed until he is old enough to do his own tax returns? Please accept my apologies, but I’m not buying it. There’s more to this story than meets the eye! It’s possible that Bill didn’t know his true birthdate or that the birth certificate was incorrect, or it’s possible that the hospital administration was a little drowsy before their morning coffee that day.
However, bureaucracy in and of itself may be difficult, and having an error like this standing in the way makes it even more difficult. In order to convince the Social Security Administration that their system was faulty, I have no idea what would be required. That’s a lot of work, to say the least.
