Keep your friends near and your enemies closer is an old proverb that we are all acquainted with, and it is particularly appropriate when it comes to business relationships. Our knowledge of business is limited, yet it appears to make sense to keep your most significant business competitor near at hand, doesn’t it? That’s exactly what this gentleman did.
The only problem was that he maintained the rival dealership so close that no one realised that the owner of the Chevy dealership was also the owner of the rival Ford business until he revealed himself. Wow, what a dramatic turn of events! Given the fact that this was a small town, it’s likely that this revelation was the talk of the town for several weeks after it was revealed.
