#16: Did Your Package Get Lost in the Mail?
There are two possible outcomes here, and we’ll never know which one it was due to the nature of the situation. Either the RSVP was misplaced in the mail for seven years, or someone finally sifted through the stack of mail on their desk at home and decided that it was better late than never to send it. The real question is whether or not they sent a lovely “I’m sorry we couldn’t make it” cheque as a consolation prize for their absence.
The good news is that this tweet did not include the disclaimer that the letter was sent after the couple had split! In my perspective, it might have been a much, much worse plot twist had it not happened. Consider the possibility that they separated a week before this letter arrived. Ouch. That would have been absolutely horrible, wouldn’t it?
