#4: Lolita (1962)

Again, with Stanley Kubrick. He’s a legendary filmmaker, but not the best at staying loyal to the original. The story goes that he had Nabokov writing the script for months, then cut him off and did whatever he wanted. Nabokov, not known for his humility, was enraged. He was about to protest, but then he saw the movie and loved it. Not exactly a faithful adaptation, but great to watch.
