When they learned what had happened to Jackson, everyone had one question on their minds. It’s hard to fathom someone would do such a cruel thing to an animal, much alone a puppy.
In fact, the police already had a theory, so Hayden didn’t have to share it with them. The only person who could have done such a cruel thing to a helpless dog would be inebriated. Hayden recalled Jackson and her son Noah having fun in the backyard. The horrible notion that had just entered her brain made her quiver.
