Marisa Tomei Didn’t Win An Oscar
Back in 1993, Marisa Tomei was still a rookie in Hollywood, unlike all of the other actresses nominated for the same award for Best Supporting Actress. For this exact reason, most people thought that one of the more successful and experienced actresses would win the Oscar. However, contrary to popular belief, Tomei won the award for her role in the movie, “My Cousin Vinny”, causing a big uproar from the losing actresses fans. Many have come up with a theory that Jack Palance, the announcer at the 1993 Academy Awards, read the card wrong due to old age and possibly being under the influence, and was then too embarrassed to correct his error, forcing the Academy to give the award to Marisa Tomei.
