From the Golden Globes to the Academy Awards: Best Red Carpet Dresses

February 5, 2017 by Miranda Hill

51. Taylor Swift, 2013/2015

Although she was nominated for several awards this year, Taylor Swift couldn’t make it to this year’s Grammy Awards. Since sh’es always among the best dressed celebrities (not just at the Grammys, but on every red carpet) we decided to examine two of her best Grammy looks. The first dress, from 2013 (on the right), won her the title of Best Dressed. The off-white dress designed by J. Mandel is both classy and sexy, and creates exactly the kind of angelic, glamorous look the singer was looking for.

Her second look (on the left) in 2015 is by designer Elie Saab, in a green-blue dress that almost makes the singer seem as if she’s a mermaid who just stepped out of the sea, and we mean that in the best possible way. Coupling the designer dress with the pink heel sandals was probably the best choice of the outfit, since it gave it another splash of color and made justice to the short skirt of the gown. She chose the right year for this winning look, since 2015 was the year the singer won three out of four nominations: Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video.
