The possible location for the up coming APC convention is still somewhat cloudy as the group of the party’s presidential aspirants, led by Atiku Abubakar, has petitioned the Party leadership to change the venue from Lagos to another location. Benin, preferably, but they are still in doubt if it would have the capacity to handle the expected crowd.
As all four had agreed, holding the convention in Lagos is certainly not the best as they have the fears that forces loyal to General Muhammad Buhari (rtd) may likely overwhelm them.
Mr. Atiku, as well as Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Governor, Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, and the publisher of Leadership newspaper, Sam Nda Isiah, all signed the petition asking for the change of venue.
Buhari did not sign the petition for change of venue and that as it were is portraying some internal discords that is yet to be made public.
A newspaper stated yesterday that all may not be well with APC at the moment, as only four of the presidential aspirants of the party comprising: Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rochas Okorocha and Sam Nda- Isaiah petitioned the national leadership of the party, questioning the rationale behind the choice of Lagos for the upcoming APC National Convention.
