If you’ve never heard of them, you should definitely read up on the Blue Zones. These areas contain the most centenarians per capita than anywhere else in the world. Their longevity can be attributed to their diets, lifestyles, and minding their own business. And although 100 years is impressive by human standards, it’s nothing compared to the Greenland Shark.
In fact, if you and a Greenland Shark were born on the same date and lived to be 100 years old, the shark would still be an infant. It hits sexual maturity at the young age of 150 years old. That, and overfishing, has dwindled the population to a mere fraction of what it was in the early 1900s.
