Don’t hog all the wine
You’ve probably seen a diagram of how this cup works. However, at first glance, you probably couldn’t tell what this is. At least, that was the case for one internet user, who uploaded an image of this cup with an odd tower protruding from the middle.
Experts were quick to notice the hole at the bottom of the tower. They correctly pointed out that this was a Pythagoras cup, or a cup that automatically drained its contents after pouring too much wine into it. Pythagoras used this cup to punish his pupils who had poured more wine into their glasses than necessary. Even olden-day philosophers used math and physics to troll others.
