A deep-water monster
If you go fishing in the middle of the ocean, don’t be surprised if you catch more than a bluefin marlin. In this story, the OP was a hobbyist fisher who reeled in a wonky, rope-looking creature from the depths of the ocean. Having no idea what this thing was, the fisherman posted their image on Reddit to seek out answers.
One helpful commenter immediately identified the creature with braids. It was a crinoid, a close relative of the starfish. They might not be dangerous, but they certainly look a lot more threatening than Patrick Star. Toss that thing back into the ocean before it gets ya!
